Sabah trip- part 2

Well, we reached Sandakan in the evening around 7 something. We had lovefeast with the saints there.Shortly after that we had a meeting with the youths there.

The pic says it all

Lovefeast

Next day morning we had Lord's Table meeting with the local saints and in the afternoon we went to visit the proboscis monkey. That evening we had seafood dinner at the meeting hall. It was awesome. Tons of prawns and crabs.

Forgot it's name liao..

Feeding time

After that we depart to Grace Blending Centre at Ranau. We had barbecue with the local youths. I had a great time catching up with some saints that i met there one year ago. The next morning we did gardening. I was assigned to pick rocks. While I was doing it, I was reminded that I need the Lord to dig away the stones and rocks in my heart so that the seed of life that's in me can be deeply rooted in me. We had to abandone our gardening half way through because it was starting to rain. After a short break we went to Poring hot spring.

Raining soon

That night we had a meeting the the youths in Ranau. The main burden of that meeting is concerning the preaching of the gospel. I was touched that our ultimate responsible is to live Christ. Preaching the gospel is the issue of us living Christ.

The next morning we went to Kota Kinabalu Park. It didn't occur to me that the place that we were going is cold. How cold can a 'park' be? So I went there without me jacket. Once i stepped down the car then I noticed something was wrong. Almost everyone has their jacket with them. Oops..this is KK Park, not Tawau Hill park or Sandakan Memorial park. As the morning breeze greets my face I started to shiver.grrrr...

The lamppost kacau la..

After that on the way back to Ranau, we passed by Kundasang. The place is famous for fruits and flowers.

Next stop, Tambunan. Refer Sabah Trip-part 3

The Throne

It's been a long time since I last left the throne in my heart. I was there reigning over most of the things in my life; trying hard to decide what's best for me and other people. I am just like Jacob, a supplanter; who grab holds of everything I could with my own natural strength. In the end all I got was just problems after problems and I was really exhausted since I didn't want to step down. But tonight, through certain circumstances, I see that the Lord should be the One reigning on the throne in my heart. Praise the Lord that He's the One sitting on the throne; reigning and rulling over everything, over us. The reason why so many problems arise in our life is because we don't see and realise that the Lord is the One on the throne. When we submit ourselves to Him, He will be glad to bear everything on our behalf. May the Lord open our eyes and grant us a clear sky to see and experience Him as the one on the throne; rulling and reigning in us.

Sabah trip- part 1

Last year I went to Sabah along with my family and the youths from Subang Jaya,Kuala Lumpur and Selayang. There were altogether 31 of us. We were there from the 19th of Dec till the 29th of Dec. During that trip we've been to 9 places, namely,Tawau,Semporna,Kunak,Kota Kinabatangan,Sandakan,Ranau,Tambunan,Keningau and Kota Kinabalu.

We arrived at Tawau around 9 something in the morning.

My sis and I

Upon arriving, the saints took us to the meeting hall in Tawau. Later in the afternoon we went to the Tawau Hill Park for jungle tracking to see the world tallest tropical tree. We were advised to put 风油 on our hands and neck and also to tuck our pants into our socks. This is to prevent us from donating blood to the leeches in the park.

Look at me ;p

It took us about 15 minutes to reach our destination. At first the path seems very nice since it is covered with tiny black stones. However as we advance further into the jungle, the path became a wet-muddy-slippery path. Everyone had a great time tracking. No one came out unstained. All of us was busy washing our shoes and legs at the toilet when we got out.

Here's the sign with the tree behind

We had meeting with the saints in Tawau later that night. The next morning we 'hired' a bus to bring us to our next destination. Little did we know, the bus was small and its compartment wasn't big enough to fit all our luggage. So we ended up lining most of our luggage along the isle on the bus. Every time when we have to go down the bus everyone have to lift the luggage beside us and place it on our seat.

Our next stop was Semporna..It was raining when we reached there. One of the local saints came and brought us to the fish aquarium. There is no church in Semporna. But there are about 10 saints there.

After that we head towards Kunak to visit a brother. There's also no church in Kunak just the brother and his family. Well, on our way there, the air-cond broke down. We were severely 'stewed' in the bus. Soooo hot and stuffy. I was trying to get some sleep in the bus and i woke up in a pool of sweat.haha... ><

Group photo before leaving

Next stop, Lahad Datu. We had a short meeting with the saint and then a simple fruit feast and then we left for Sandakan since we are behind schedule. Those pictures I took at Lahad Datu were blur and dark so won't upload any of 'em here.

On the way to Sandakan, we stopped by Kota Kinabatangan for toilet break. Almost all of the people there are muslim. Almost everyone looked at us when we passed by those shop lots. It must have been rare for them seeing such a big tour passing by.

And finally we reached Sandakan at night time around 7 something. What did we do there? Well, find out more in the upcoming entries. As for now, Sabah trip part 1 ends here.
